TEACHING AND EDUCATION
Juliet is a keen teacher of oboe, piano and saxophone for both children and adults and has an LRAM Teacher’s Diploma.
Juliet is known for her sensitive, inspirational and empathetic approach and currently teaches privately from her home studio in Hertfordshire.
Other instrumental teaching has included 10 years for Sutton Music Service, Mill Hill School and John Fisher School. She also teaches Music Theory and is a highly experienced accompanist for Associated Board Exams.
Juliet is the principal oboe and a longstanding member of the Apollo Chamber Orchestra, which has developed into the highly acclaimed Apollo Music Projects.
Apollo provides workshops and concerts for children in primary schools across London. Identifying that woodwinds are under-represented in school music provision, Juliet developed a programme for independent visits with her woodwind quartet that introduce woodwinds and saxophones to Years 3,4 and 5.
Juliet welcomes students of all ages for theory, aural and reed-making in addition to oboe, saxophone and piano.
I have performed as a cellist with Juliet for about twenty years. She is a wonderfully accomplished pianist, accompanying both my students and myself in concerts, ABRSM exams and auditions. Juliet is a very musical and sensitive musician, often bringing great suggestions and fresh ideas that really bring pieces to life. She is an easy and comfortable person to work with in any situation and I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking an accompanist.
